I suffer from loneliness and when lonely need a friend to talk to

My story ….

My name is Claire and I am an ordained minister, ministerial counselor that welcomes all religions and belief systems! I am also a postpartum doula with a mental health first aid certification and the founder of Phone My Friend.  Phone My Friend is a unique,  first of it’s kind,  confidential over the phone/online chat befriending and listening service for anybody that is lonely or that just wants a friend.

At some point in my life I have, to name just a few,  experienced many emotional,  life changing events such as post-natal depression, a victim of personal theft,  incidents that led to feelings of loneliness and most recently I experienced an extremely painful suicide loss.

The point is not what I have experienced but how others sometimes reacted or didn’t react when I was vulnerable and divulged my thoughts and feelings.  All I really wanted was for somebody “to just listen”, without them giving me unwanted advice.

There are a large number of people who may go through their entire day without having a friendly phone conversation. So from the comfort of your own home or a quiet place to talk, Phone My Friend is here to listen to YOU as you share your story!

Phone My Friend is not here to offer marital, relationship, financial or medical *advice.

So what is your story?  Pick up the phone today and call or submit an online chat request.   I am very friendly, approachable and here to listen to you as you share your day, your thoughts or any future plans you have in mind!

You don’t have to sign up for complimentary interactive conversations with “Musings with Claire”, but if you do we will get better acquainted much faster!

By now you are one step closer to feeling less lonely and might be considering making a phone call to Phone My Friend, but first please read “The Terms and Conditions” found under “Terms and Conditions.”

Talking to Claire on a weekly basis sometimes just for 20 minutes is like going to church for me but better! I ramble on about work and the frustrations that my career brings to me and she just listens with an understanding ear. She asks me questions about “What do I like to do in my time away from work” and we get talking about the hobbies I have and the hobbies I wish I was brave enough to have. In just a few short weeks she seemed to know more about me than my family know as she takes the time to ask me questions about my work, my views on world events and she actually listens to my answers!  It’s actually really good fun and we laugh a lot!  (something I need to do more of!)  John Matthews (name has been changed) Chicago, Illinois.

OMG, how refreshing! I am a first time parent and I first started phoning Claire when my son was 3 weeks old and wouldn’t stop crying! She was so calm on the phone with me and helped me understand that my emotions were all normal and that I was not the only Mom on this side of the Pacific to struggle with feelings of just not getting it maternally! Everybody else pushing strollers seemed so happy all the time but I felt miserable! She told me that this shall pass and bonding doesn’t come naturally to all Moms like I thought it did. Now my son is 5 months old and I still call her for a friendly chat occasionally to connect and share things that I can’t share with my friends that seem to have it all so perfect (nothing is perfect) but I get the feeling I need a safer place to pour my heart out and to know it won’t be spread around the neighborhood that my life is less than perfect! Sally Peterson (name has been changed) San Diego, California.

I am a much older gentleman that has never been one for having friends as I am your typical introvert.  I am not much of a drinker so doing the bar scene and chatting with the bartender won’t work either! But connecting with Clare a few times a week is my go to place to avoid the loneliness pangs and I look forward to sharing things over the phone with her.  I am an atheist and Claire allows me to express my thoughts and feelings about my reasons behind my choices. She works well with my personality.  I also like getting her emails as she gets me thinking about things that I might not always have thought about.   Daniel Clutterbuck.  Orlando, Florida
